Leaking Quick-Connect Fittings

Leaking at the faucet

If water is leaking from the top of the Universal Faucet Connector, first ensure it is not cross threaded, then check it is on tight. Try using a towel to get a better grip to tighten.

Alternatively, unscrew the Universal Faucet Connector and inspect the black washer in the top of the connector. If the washer is damaged or missing, please contact customer support for a replacement.

Water leaking between fittings

Hoselink fittings maintain a watertight seal via a o-ring to o-ring seal between each. If water is leaking between two fittings it is most likely due to a missing o-ring.

Steps to resolve:

  • Disconnect the fittings from each other.
  • Inspect the face of each for the black O-ring.
  • Replace the missing o-ring with a spare.

Spare o-rings are supplied with all Hoselink fittings, kits, and hose reels. You can also buy spare o-rings HERE.

Damaged Fittings

Hose Connector with Flow Control

If water is leaking from the screw/s of the Hose Connector w/ Flow Control, it can be due to a loose screw or an internal failure. Try tightening the screw/s. If the leak continues, please contact customer support for in-warranty replacements.

If the lever on the Hose End Connector w/ Flow Control has cracked or become damaged, please contact customer support for a replacement.

Accessory Connector with Swivel

If the swivel top of the Accessory Connector with Swivel has separated from the main body, a brass stem with two rubber o-rings will be visible. This is not repairable, and the connector needs replacing. Please contact customer support for in-warranty replacements.

Faucet Connector won't fit my tap

If the Universal Faucet Connector is too small, then unscrew and remove the size reducer on the top.

If the Universal Faucet Connector is too big, check to be sure the size reducer is in place. If it is missing, please contact customer support for a replacement.

Spray Nozzles

Comfort 8-Pattern Sprayer – Leaking

If water is leaking around the face of the sprayer, ensure the function selection dial is set to one function and not in between two.

If a leak has developed on the rubber handle, please contact customer support for an in-warranty replacement. Hint: This can be caused by frost and cold temperatures. We recommend draining your hose reel and watering accessories for winter storage.

Comfort 8-Pattern Sprayer – On/Off switch

If the thumb on/off switch has cracked or broken off, please contact customer support for an in-warranty replacement.

If water is leaking from the on/off switch, please contact customer support for an in-warranty replacement.

7-Function Sprayer - Leaking

If leaking occurs from behind the function selector dial, first try tightening the screw on the face in case it is loose. If that fails, follow these steps to repair the sprayer:

  • Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the front face of the sprayer. Be careful not to lose the small white-tipped spring.
  • Remove the o-ring (use a pin if necessary) and replace with a new one.
  • Spread some silicone lubricant around the o-ring and surrounding area.
  • Replace the face of the sprayer and tighten the screw.

Contact customer support for the Sprayer Repair Kit, including o-rings, lubricant, and more.

7-Function Sprayer – Floppy trigger

If the spray nozzle trigger becomes floppy or loses resistance, it is due to the internal o-rings and lubricant drying out. Take these steps to relubricate and restore proper function to the sprayer:

  • Use pliers to unscrew the brass cap at the back of the sprayer.
  • Remove the spring.
  • Push out the stainless-steel plunger from the trigger side then grip with pliers from the back to remove it.
  • Clean out any debris or build-up inside.
  • Spread a few drops of silicone lubricant into the cavity and around the o-rings on the plunger.
  • Replace the plunger, spring and brass cap.
  • Pump the trigger to lubricate fully and until operational.

It is important to use only silicone lubricant from Hoselink or any hardware store. Do not use water-based WD-40. A tube of silicone lubricant is provided with each 7-Function Sprayer. Please contact customer support to purchase additional tubes.

Hint: Periodically lubricating the sprayer will keep it operating smoothly. Simply drop some silicone lubricant on to the plunger under the trigger and pump the handle to distribute.

Sprinklers

Oscillating Sprinkler – Blocked jet

Unscrew the cleaning pin at the end of the sprinkler and use to poke through each of the jets. Then, flush water through the sprinkler to clear out any grit before replacing the pin.

Spare Jets are available, please customer support for assistance.

Oscillating Sprinkler – Not oscillating

This is likely due to low water pressure. Try turning up the water at the faucet end and at the Hose Connector w/ Flow Control on the hose.

Ensure the water flow and oscillation controls are open for maximum range and water pressure.
